The present review is aimed to compare two AV receivers - Denon AVR-X6400H vs Onkyo TX-RZ740 that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers.

Amplifier

A significant difference between the receivers in the number of channels, Denon AVR-X6400H has 11.2 versus 9.2 for Onkyo TX-RZ740. Audio features

Both rivals can scale the resolution of the incoming HDMI signal. The HDR standard - Dolby Vision is supported by these receivers.

Each of the AV receivers from our review supports 3 Multi-room zones. The AVR-X6400H supports voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, Josh.AI, and the TX-RZ740 - Google Assistant. An ECO mode is only available for the AVR-X6400H. Both AVR-X6400H and TX-RZ740 can be configured using the Setup assistant.

Multichannel surround
