Onkyo TX-SR393 vs Harman Kardon HK 3700 – that is a question.
The number of channels for receivers is different - 5.2 versus 2.0, respectively, for devices. In terms of power, there are differences, the TX-SR393 has such a ratio W/Ohm - 80/8, 155/6, while the HK 3700 has a power of 85/8. The value of total harmonic distortion is also different, and for the TX-SR393 it is 0.08%, but for the HK 3700 it is 0.07%.
The manufacturer installed different DACs, the TX-SR393 received the model AKM 384 KHz/32-bit, but the HK 3700 is equipped with 192 KHz/24-bit. None of the compared opponents supports Bi-amping. In the considered devices there is no function transmitting an audio signal directly to the amplifier and bypasses any DSP processing.
Wireless connection to the Internet via WIFI can not be performed on these receivers. Each of the receivers has a Bluetooth connector. Support for Apple Music Services not implemented. Spotify is not available for these receivers. HDMI signal transmission in standby mode can provide only the TX-SR393. Video scaling is only possible with the TX-SR393. Operation with the Dolby Vision is only possible with the TX-SR393. HDMI Audio Return Channel is only available on Onkyo TX-SR393. HDMI eARC is not supported by the TX-SR393 and the HK 3700. When comparing receivers, it becomes clear that only the Onkyo TX-SR393 has HDMI CEC. In the presence of a built-in phono stage for connecting a vinyl player only at Harman Kardon HK 3700. Voice control of the basic functions of the receiver is not realized in both models. There is an ECO mode in neither AV receiver. None of these units can be properly configured using the setup assistant.
A Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format is available only in the TX-SR393. Only in the TX-SR393 realized a DTS:X surround technology.
