The present review is aimed to compare two AV receivers - Yamaha RX-V483BL vs Onkyo TX-NR787 that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers.
A significant difference between the receivers in the number of channels, Yamaha RX-V483BL has 5.1 versus 9.2 for Onkyo TX-NR787. Regarding power, then RX-V483BL has such a W/Ohm ratio - 80/6 when TX-NR787 has a power of 100/8, 220/6. The THD is 0.09% for the RX-V483BL but 0.08% for the TX-NR787.
Characteristics of digital to analog converter (DAC) are different, Burr-Brown 192 KHz/24-bit for RX-V483BL and AK4458 384 KHz/32-bit for the TX-NR787. HDMI signal transmission in standby mode is implemented in each of the devices. The RX-V483BL can scale the input HDMI signal, unlike the TX-NR787. The HDR standard - Dolby Vision is supported by these receivers.
