Amplifier

The number of channels for receivers is different - 7.2 versus 5.1, respectively, for devices. In terms of power, there are differences, the RX-V581 has such a ratio W/Ohm - 115/6, while the RX-V479BL has a power of 80/8. A common feature for devices is the same total harmonic distortion - 0.09%.

Audio features

The manufacturer installed different DACs, the RX-V581 received the model Burr-Brown 192 KHz/24-bit, but the RX-V479BL is equipped with 192 KHz/24-bit. The Bi-amping function is implemented only in the Yamaha RX-V581. Both Yamaha RX-V581 and Yamaha RX-V479BL can transmit an audio signal directly to the amplifier and bypasses any DSP processing.

Connectivity

Video features

Support for the HDR function can only boast of the RX-V581. The quality of 4K/60Hz signal remains unchanged when transmitting from a source to a TV or projector via HDMI for both receivers. Signaling over HDMI in standby mode can provide the RX-V581 and the RX-V479BL. None of the devices can increase the resolution of the incoming video signal. Review participants do not have the Dolby Vision feature.

Extensive connections

A Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format is available only in the RX-V581. Only in the RX-V581 realized a DTS:X surround technology.
