Amplifier

The number of channels for receivers is different - 7.2 versus 2.0, respectively, for devices. In terms of power, there are differences, the RX-V675 has such a ratio W/Ohm - 90/8, 150/4, while the HK 3700 has a power of 85/8. The value of total harmonic distortion is also different, and for the RX-V675 it is 0.09%, but for the HK 3700 it is 0.07%.

Audio features

The manufacturer installed different DACs, the RX-V675 received the model Burr-Brown 192 KHz/24-bit, but the HK 3700 is equipped with 192 KHz/24-bit. The Bi-amping function is implemented only in the Yamaha RX-V675. The model RX-V675 can transmit an audio signal directly to the amplifier and bypasses any DSP processing.

Connectivity

Wireless connection to the Internet via WIFI can not be performed on these receivers. Each of the receivers has a Bluetooth connector. The RX-V675 has access to the Spotify service. The number of available streaming services varies for receivers, the Yamaha RX-V675 works with Napster, but the Harman Kardon HK 3700 works with vTuner.

Video features

Oddly enough, the support for the HDR function is not implemented in these units. HDMI signal transmission in standby mode can provide only the RX-V675. Video scaling is only possible with the RX-V675. Operation with the Dolby Vision is only possible with the RX-V675. HDMI Audio Return Channel is only available on Yamaha RX-V675. HDMI eARC is not supported by the RX-V675 and the HK 3700. When comparing receivers, it becomes clear that only the Yamaha RX-V675 has HDMI CEC. In the presence of a built-in phono stage for connecting a vinyl player only at Harman Kardon HK 3700. Voice control of the basic functions of the receiver is not realized in both models. There is an ECO mode in RX-V675. None of these units can be properly configured using the setup assistant.

Multichannel surround

Generally no support for a Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format. A DTS:X surround technology is not supported by devices from our comparison.
