Amplifier

AV receivers under review have the same number of channels. In terms of power, there are differences, the STR-DN1080 has such a ratio W/Ohm - 120/6, while the STR-DN1040 has a power of 100/6. A common feature for devices is the same total harmonic distortion - 0.09%.

Audio features

Signaling over HDMI in standby mode can provide the STR-DN1080 and the STR-DN1040. Video scaling is only possible with the STR-DN1040. Review participants do not have the Dolby Vision feature.

Extensive connections

The number of HDMI inputs/outputs varies depending on the receiver, the STR-DN1080 has 6/2, and the STR-DN1040 has 8/2. HDMI Audio Return Channel is implemented in both devices. HDMI eARC is only supported by the STR-DN1080. When comparing receivers, it becomes clear that each of the rivals can work with HDMI CEC. STR-DN1080 and STR-DN1040 support the standard HDCP 2.2. Unlike most receivers, our models do not have a built-in phono stage for connecting a vinyl player.

Additional features
