Characteristics of digital to analog converter (DAC) are different, 192 KHz/24-bit for TX-SR353 and AK4438 384 KHz/32-bit for the DTM-6. None of the models support Bi-amping. Sound transmission directly to the amplifier in Pure direct (straight) mode is not implemented in these models. Rivals from our review have Bluetooth support. Only the DTM-6 supports Spotify.
HDR is not available on each model. Compared AV receivers are not able to transmit a 4K signal from the source to the TV or projector. Only the TX-SR353 provides HDMI signal transmission in standby mode. Both competitors are not able to scale the HDMI signal. The HDR standard - Dolby Vision is not supported by these receivers.
