The Onkyo TX-SR383 vs Cambridge Audio AXR100 comparison proves that these receivers have many common features.

Amplifier

A significant difference between the receivers in the number of channels, Onkyo TX-SR383 has 7.2 versus 2.0 for Cambridge Audio AXR100. Regarding power, then TX-SR383 has such a W/Ohm ratio - 100/8, 135/6 when AXR100 has a power of 100/8. The THD is 0.09% for the TX-SR383 but 0.01% for the AXR100.

Audio features

Characteristics of digital to analog converter (DAC) are different, 192 KHz/24-bit for TX-SR383 and 192 KHz/32-bit for the AXR100. None of the models support Bi-amping. Sound transmission directly to the amplifier in Pure direct (straight) mode is not implemented in these models.

Connectivity

Both models do not have WI-FI support. Rivals from our review have Bluetooth support. Each of these units does not support Apple Music. Competitors do not have built-in Spotify service.

Video features

Only the Onkyo TX-SR383 has support for High dynamic range (HDR). Only the TX-SR383 provides HDMI signal transmission in standby mode. Both competitors are not able to scale the HDMI signal. The HDR standard - Dolby Vision is not supported by these receivers. Only the TX-SR383 supports HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Unfortunately, HDMI eARC is not available on monitored devices. Of the two receivers in our comparison, HDMI CEC is present in only the TX-SR383. The AXR100 has a built-in phono stage for connecting a vinyl player. A voice control is not available. An ECO mode is not present in each of the AV receivers. Unfortunately, the setup assistant is not available in each of the models.

Multichannel surround

None of the rivals equipped with Dolby Atmos multichannel audio decoder. The receivers do not support the surround sound technology DTS:X.
