The present review is aimed to compare two AV receivers - Onkyo TX-RZ920 vs Pioneer VSX-LX102 that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers.

Amplifier

A significant difference between the receivers in the number of channels, Onkyo TX-RZ920 has 9.2 versus 7.2 for Pioneer VSX-LX102. Regarding power, then TX-RZ920 has such a W/Ohm ratio - 135/8, 175/6 when VSX-LX102 has a power of 80/8, 170/6. The THD is 0.04% for the TX-RZ920 but 0.08% for the VSX-LX102.

Audio features

Characteristics of digital to analog converter (DAC) are different, AK4490 384 KHz/32-bit for TX-RZ920 and AK4438 384 KHz/32-bit for the VSX-LX102. The HDR standard - Dolby Vision is supported by these receivers.
